Digital transition and knowledge mediation: the new institutional portal of the ICCN
Dear partners, dear contributors to conservation efforts,
The launch of the new digital portal of the Congolese Institute for Nature Conservation (ICCN) marks a pragmatic and paradigmatic turning point in the exercise of our sovereign prerogatives.
Beyond a simple communication interface, this tool stands as a strategic vector dedicated to promoting the biotic heritage of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In an era characterized by systemic ecological changes, the ICCN must lead nature governance based on scientific evidence and institutional transparency.
This site has been designed as an epistemological crossroads where fundamental research, environmental engineering, and participatory management dynamics converge.
The ambition of this platform is threefold :
1. Capitalizing on knowledge and connections :
By archiving and disseminating data related to the integrity of our ecosystems and the management of our protected areas, it establishes not only a component of knowledge but also a channel for networking.
2. Analytical rigor :
Considerable openness and support for researchers, decision-makers, and technical partners is provided through privileged access to forward-looking analyses and rigorous biological inventories.
3. The dialectic of conservation :
A critical reflection on the relationship between biodiversity conservation and the imperatives of sustainable human development.
“Dear all, the preservation of our natural capital cannot be a mere conservation measure; it constitutes the foundation upon which the resilience of our societies and the dignity of future generations rest.”
By making data relating to Congolese biodiversity accessible, the ICCN reaffirms its commitment to democratizing environmental knowledge. This portal thus becomes an instrument of institutional accountability, facilitating synergy between field actors, the international scientific community, and local communities, the historical guardians of these territories.
We invite you to engage with this space for dialogue and strategic monitoring so that together, we can strengthen the ICCN’s technical, scientific, and strategic authority and make conservation a lever of sovereignty and influence for our nation.
“We conserve what you admire!”
